The journey of Core Fragrance began with a singular, deeply personal mission. Years ago, the passing of my grandfather left me with a handful of cherished memories and his old wooden drawer. Inside rested a bottle of his favorite cologne—a fragrance that had long been discontinued.

Driven by a need to preserve his memory, I set out to track down the raw materials and recreate the exact DNA of that perfume. In those early days, the online perfumery community was small, relying on scarce resources to understand the craft. I started simply by researching the scent's listed notes. Today, I know that a fragrance's architecture is vastly more complicated than the marketing notes printed on a box, but at the time, it was the first step into an entirely new world.

The Pursuit of Perfection

I began sourcing oils and formulating based on other perfumes that shared a similar profile. For a long time, the balance was never quite right; there was always a missing dimension. But as my laboratory of raw materials expanded, my understanding of the chemistry and blending process deepened.

Eventually, through relentless trial and error, I finally unlocked the formula. I managed to recreate the exact scent he wore: a classic, sophisticated cologne defined by woody, nutty, and sweet accords. I initially formulated it into a room spray, simply so I could feel his presence in the room with me.
